When the seasons change, our inner landscape shifts too. Do you feel the incredible healing qi available right now in these cooler, Late Summer evenings? Slowing down in Late Summer honors the Earth element and the human condition itself. In other words, “taking the time” is mental and emotional wellness.
This is especially good medicine for highly sensitive people/psychics/empaths who are picking up so much information at one time. So: allow the seasonal cycles to inform, support, and guide you. Honor your sensitivities, your knowing, and your highly attuned autonomic nervous systems.
For people with Trauma with a capitol T, Late Summer is an especially powerful time to honor your Resilience! Consequently, this is an opportunity tune in and trust your system’s innate wisdom and ability to heal itself. Right now, so much healing is accessible, and fragments of yourself can return to center.
Lastly, self-care at this time can look so many ways, but some basics come to mind. Prioritize easy-to-digest foods: keep it clean and light. Balance your intake. Avoid excess. Choose movement if worry or overthinking is running amuck. Ground yourself with long, deep exhales. Nurture if things are feeling too fast or fritzed after a busy Summer. Then observe.
